Select the Appropriate Data Import Method

Why import your data?

Data is at the heart of the Fairly Made platform.

The information you share with us about your suppliers, products, and components enables you to:

  • Map your supply chain and product journey
  • Identify environmental impact areas
  • Comply with new and upcoming regulations (AGEC, PEF, etc.)
  • Empower your teams with measurable insights

What options do you have to import your data?

Fairly Made offers multiple ways to import your data into our platform. Here are the most common approaches:

1. Spreadsheet Template

Use our pre-formatted template that your Fairly Made contact can share with you. Simply fill in your data following the provided format and guidelines.

  • Some columns are required, others are recommended (providing more detailed information for more precise results)
  • Details about each data point are clearly indicated in the template and explained in the data specification section
  • Submit as Excel file
2. API Integration

For brands seeking automated data transfer, our API enables secure, direct communication between your systems and ours.

What is an API? An Application Programming Interface (API) is a secure bridge that allows two computer systems to automatically exchange data

  • While API setup does require some technical skills, we provide a comprehensive API documentation, test sets (in the API documentation), and guidance to support the process
    • Find the API documentation here
  • Fairly Made offers different levels of support depending on your API offer, during all the API setup phase.
3. Secured File Transfer (SFTP)

Upload your completed template files through a secure, dedicated file transfer system.

What is SFTP? A secure transfer method for uploading and downloading files

  • Use the same template as option 1
  • Fairly Made provides SFTP access and documentation
    • Find the SFTP documentation here
  • Files can be uploaded in Excel or CSV format (one CSV per tab in the spreadsheet template)
