Communicate: publish, update data, or declare the French Environmental Cost

The Communicate section lets you publish, update, and declare your product information directly from your platform.

You can now publish and update your Showcases/QR codes, and declare your French Environmental Cost, in one place. This gives you full control over the publication, update, and declaration of your data — and makes you autonomous, whenever you need it.

1. Where can I find these actions?

Go to the My Products page, then click on Communicate, in the top right corner of the page.

2. What actions can I perform?

The Communicate section gives you access to 2 actions:

  • Update DPP data: This action is available on accounts that have the Communication package, that feed their DPP through the public API, or both. If your account has neither, the button will appear disabled.
  • Declare French Environmental Cost: This feature is available only to customers who have granted Fairly Made authorization on the French Government Portal (more information in this article)

Both actions apply to the products you've selected — or, if you select the whole list, to every product matching your current filters.

2.1. DPP publication and update

This button lets you publish your Showcases/QR codes (if they aren't published yet), or update them with the latest data available.

  1. Filter your products as needed, then select the products for which you want to publish or update the DPP.
  2. Click Update DPP data — you'll be asked to confirm the action. Before confirming, double-check that the impact display information is set up correctly on your Company Settings page (this is where you choose which impact information you're willing to display).
  3. Once confirmed, a task confirmation appears in the bottom left corner of your screen. Click View task to open the task details in a new section on the right: you can view the task's progress, check whether it succeeded or failed, and view the history of all the tasks you've initiated.

The task keeps running in the background, even if you close this section.

2.2. French Environmental Cost declaration

This button lets you declare the French Environmental Cost for your selected products.

  1. Filter your products as needed, then select the products for which you want to declare the French Environmental Cost.
    • 💡 Tip: to quickly find the products concerned by the French Methodology, open the filter section, search for the filter "Concerned by French methodology" in the search bar, and select Yes.
  2. Click Declare French Environmental Cost — as with DPP updates, you'll be asked to confirm the action. A task confirmation appears in the bottom left corner of your screen — click Open task to follow its progress.
  3. Once the task is complete, you'll see whether the declaration succeeded or failed for each product. If a declaration fails, you'll find the reason in the Error section.

Checklist:

Before declaring the French Environmental Cost, make sure you have:

  • Correctly filled in your Brand Settings (Company Settings > Analysis Settings)
  • Chosen what to display on your Showcases (Company Settings > Analysis Settings > Display on the product showcase). Remember: if you display impact according to French law, you must also display the French Environmental Cost.
  • Delegated Fairly Made as a third party on the government platform
  • Sent the GTIN/EAN codes for your products when sending data to Fairly Made

3. A quick use case

Publishing DPPs as soon as they're compliant. Your plans changed, and your products will now be delivered on your e-commerce site earlier than expected — even though traceability data collection isn't finished yet.

Here's how to check which products are already AGEC-compliant and publish them:

  1. Go to My Products and open the filter section.
  2. Select your collection/drop.
  3. Filter on "Product is concerned by AGEC requirements": Yes.
  4. Filter on "Product traceability meets AGEC requirements": Yes.
  5. Filter on “Fr. env. cost declared on governmental platform”: No
  6. Select the whole list by clicking the checkbox in the header.
  7. Click Update DPP.

In the “Last traceability update” column, you can see whether a supplier has updated the information provided in their form. Come back and update the DPP again with the latest information available. This way, you stay compliant while always showing the most up-to-date traceability information.
